The weekend of the 17/18th May saw Wear Valley Swimming Club host its annual spring meet.
The club welcomed another 12 clubs from across the North East and North Yorkshire, ensuring a very exciting and competitive weekend of swimming.
The club had 12 swimmers competing at different age group events, and won 37 medals in total, comprising 12 Golds, 13 Silvers and 12 Bronze.
Although most of the medals came from the more experienced swimmers, the younger members of the club (some of them competing for the first time) performed extremely well, all gaining new PBs.
Head coach Angela Callan said, “The swimmers should be deservedly proud of their achievements as it is mostly down to the hours of hard work they do week-in week-out at training, but also their determination to improve.
“The club is growing and hopefully we can once again enjoy the regular success that we were achieving just a few years ago.”
