New term for Walking Netball

The club plays at King James Community Centre every Thuirsday from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

After eight years at the helm, Gladys Short has passed on the running of Bishop Auckland KJ1 Walking Netball to Rachel Layfield-Carol to lead the club into a new season.

The club plays at King James Community Centre on South Church Road on Thursdays from 6.30pm until 7.30pm.

Rachel said: โ€œIโ€™d love to welcome you to our walking netball club.

โ€œItโ€™s a great way to keep active, have fun, make new friends and enjoy being part of a club.

โ€œSo come and join us with no pressure to attend every time. You can pay as you go at just ยฃ4 a week after the first free taster session.

โ€œYou can join at any time too – Just turn up. It doesnโ€™t matter how long since you exercised, or even if you have never played netball before, we welcome you to KJ1 Walking Netball.

โ€œIโ€™d also like to pass on my personal thanks to Gladys for all her commitment over the years.โ€

The club is affiliated to the northern area of AENA, and has been Highly Commended for their efforts in 2024 at the North of England Netball Awards.
