After a successful coffee morning raising funds for MacMillan cancer support last year, I am once again hosting a coffee morning on Friday 25 September, writes Edwin MyLay.
It will take place in Ferryhill Methodist Church, 9am till 11.30am. And again, kindly supported by the church ladies, who will be serving tea and coffee in their little cafe.
Homemade cakes, scones and corned beef pie will be on sale in the church hall to have with your tea or to take home.
There will be a tombola stall, craft stalls, a book stall, and a humongous raffle. The prizes, five in all, have been very kindly gifted from Ferryhill businesses. The first prize, is a cut and blow dry, with Mayhem Hair. The second prize, but no less desirable, is a blow dry, with Essence Hairdressing. Third prize, a lovely basket of fruit, kindly donated by the Co-op. Fourth prize is a £10 meat voucher, kindly gifted from Taylor’s the Butchers. And last, but no means least, is a lovely bouquet of flowers from Fiori florists. Tickets will go on sale from 9am Friday morning.
My thanks to all who have donated, and to those who are going to come and contribute to MacMillan Cancer Support.
