Six local runners from the Cruz Control running group are celebrating an incredible weekend of results after all achieving personal bests in the Middlesbrough half marathon.

Joe Lewis from Shildon had his second amateur MMA fight on Machine MMA, and with that, brought home his second victory.

Shildon Amateur Boxing Club held their first home show of the year on Saturday 17 January at The Civic Hall. 

Nine-man Shildon AFC's league progress was halted by leaders Guisborough Town who came from behind at home to extend their lead at the top.

Shildon Town Bowling has had a good season, albeit we finished in the lower half of the leagues, but we gained several new members which have quickly improved and helped make team selection less of a problem.

Shildon Railway CC 1st XI ended their season on a high with a commanding 8-wicket victory over Middlesbrough CC 2nd XI.

Shildon AFC put in a decent performance away at league leaders, Whitley Bay, albiet ultimately ending in a 2-0 defeat.

Shildon AFC got quickly back on track after their FA Cup exit by picking up maximum points in their latest two league games, albeit they did their best to throw away a four-goal lead on Saturday.
