In week four, I am delighted to report that I completed the target distance on Monday 28 August, writes Lee Williams in the latest update to his August Cycle the Month fundraising challenge.
But the challenge had two parts: the first was the target distance of 500km (310 miles) and the second, was to cycle every day for the whole month. For the last three days of the challenge, I hope to ‘redo’ the miles I completed on the static bike in the gym to complete the full distance on the roads and cycleways around the area.
Now for the blatant payday plea… Please give what you can to support these charities, a £1 donation CAN make a difference when enough people pull together to do the same. You can donate online to one of my three chosen charities between my three chosen charities: Deliverance, Prostate Cancer UK and Brain Tumour Research here.
“Deliverance is a charity close to my family’s heart, tirelessly working to save animals from danger and confinement, working towards finding them a safe and loving forever home.”
“Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. One in eight will be diagnosed with the disease and money raised will go towards life changing research and supporting families affected by by the illness.”
“I am also supporting Brain Tumour Research because brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. It is something that has affected close friends and my own family.”
Thank you for your support and encouragement, but most of all, your generosity in helping these charities.
