I’m over half way, writes Lee Williams in an update to his August Cycle the Month fundraising challenge in which he hopes to cover 500km by the end of August.
The weather this week has been much kinder, albeit a bit on the breezy side at times. I managed a full week riding on the roads and managed to complete a further 128 km (80 miles) bringing my total to 254km (158 miles). Fundraising is also going well with a current total around £650 between the charities.
I have been asked why my target was to raise £274 and £310 for the cancer charities and the answer is £274 represents 10% of the cost of a day’s research in a Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence, and £310 represents £1/mile of the completed distance. Ultimately, I just want to raise as much money as I can for all three charities.
