Shildon Railway Cricket Club’s senior sides both lost out to Ushaw Moor in rain interrupted games last weekend.
The 1st team batted first at the Moor and skipper Greg Upton’s 61 was the top score in the side’s total of 172 for 7 in the curtailed 42 overs. Professional Billy Teasedale led the home side’s reply, also with 61 and Ushaw went on to victory, in 32 overs, with 176 for 6.
At the Sportsfield, Shildon 2nds managed only 75 all out, in another rain affected game. In reply Matthew Summerbell took 4 for 25 as the visitors cruised to the win at 74 for 5.
Next Saturday the 1st team entertain Peterlee, whilst the 2nds are without a game, as Peterlee’s ground is unavailable. The fixture has been re-arranged for Sunday 7th September.
