A local Shildon business producing gourmet pies was delighted to team up with Shildon Alive Project in supplying their community shop with over 250 pies last week.
Open since 2018, TLC Gourmet chefs Thomas LeatherBarrow and Alex Wood have committed to giving back to the community.
Alexander Wood, Head Chef of TLC Gourmet said: “Food is more than just sustenance – it brings people together, provides comfort and makes a difference in people’s lives.
“We are proud to partner with Shildon Alive and contribute to their invaluable work in the local area.
“We hope these pies bring warmth and nourishment to families within the community.”
Stocked in the fridges, the pies were quickly added to baskets with one family saying that they felt like they were getting a real treat for tea that evening.
Paula Nelson, project manager for Shildon Alive, expressed the charity’s gratitude for the generous donation.
“The pies have been a real hit, and I’m told they are delicious,” she said.
“We have seen a drastic rise in need for our services, so a local company supporting us really makes a difference.”
Shildon Alive continues to be a vital resource for local residents, offering food support, community initiatives, and practical help.
