Literary Institute benefits from Members Initiative Fund

The latest organisation to benefit from Ferryhill Town Council’s Members Initiative Fund is Dean Bank & Ferryhill Literary Institute.

A representative from the Institute, Chris Cairns, attended a cheque presentation at Ferryhill Town Hall, where Councillor Gordon Barker presented him with a cheque for £450 from his Members Initiative Fund Allocation.

The funds contributed will be used to help cover the cost of replacing the old carpet in the Institute’s meeting room, which is old and almost threadbare.

Cllr Barker said: “Ferryhill Town Council is always keen to support local community groups, and I am only too pleased, on this occasion, to be able to contribute my Members Initiative Fund Allocation, to help Dean Bank & Ferryhill Literary Institute renovate its meeting room.”
