Dear Editor,
Can our current incumbents at both the Local and District Council level, inform the residents of New Shildon what they are going to do regarding the “swamp” opposite the Premier shop / Post Office on Redworth Road in New Shildon?
This patch of grass is a disgrace to the local community and to avoid the mud on the pavement, people have to walk on the road, which I’m sure they will agree is not the safest option! (Especially young mothers with children in pushchairs.)
Also, what are our Incumbents doing regarding the derelict Commercial public house that has been boarded up for as long as I can remember?
Surely this building can be either reopened as a public house or, even better, turned into a community centre or museum that will be of benefit to the people of Shildon.
May I remind the Labour Party of their commitment and obligation to make Shildon a better place to live in, so I look forward to seeing what action they are going to take on these matters.
