Croquet season finale

William and Valerie claimed the Mickey Glenn trophy.

Last week saw the end of the croquet calendar for another year with the annual HiLo Competition for the Mickey Glenn trophy, reports Richard Peck.

Players are separated into experienced and less experienced. Then one player from each group is paired together, then another until all players have partners.

Each couple then play against each other couple with the winners being the team that has most points.

This year’s winners, by one point, were William and his partner for the day Valerie, who only started playing croquet this year. Congratulations to them both.

Hopefully after some remedial lawn treatment over the winter months, we will return in April next year and look forward to welcoming more new faces to ‘have a go at croquet’.
