Shildon RAC weekend round-up

Trail-races-series(1)As Shildon’s sprint / jumps athletes regroup for the outdoor season after an extremely successful winter campaign, The North East Counties Pentathlon Championships witnessed Courtnie Mills closing her winter as she finished 4th u17w, recording 9.99s for the 60mh, 8.47s for the 60m, 1.45m in the HJ, 4.53m in the lj and 6.31m in the shot.

The North East Harrier Leagues final fixture took place at Wreckington on 20th March with Chloe Fairclough 4th Girl In the U11 in 6m dead.

Ryan Watson finished 4th in the U13 Boys in a time of 9.46. Lizzie Cramb was 4th of the u15g fast pack, 6th overall and also finished 2nd in the Individual Grand Prix. In the U17w / U20w combined race Lizzy Wood finished 14th in a time of 21.36.

The 22nd March was the final race of the Winter Stockton 5k trail series and Shildon Middle Distance came and went away with the prizes. Ryan Watson, won the 11-14, and Harrison Daglish battled and battled for an incredibly hard earned 2nd place against Liam Chapman from Mandale Harriers. Chloe Fairclough also battled for 2nd place in the Under 11s, claiming her prize as she did so.

Hackworth run has provided the main focus for the club’s seniors of late where the 53rd running saw Elizabeth Wood finish 1st female (21.49) while David Beadle (20.29) was Shildon’s first athlete across the line recording a pb for the 2nd consecutive week. Ryan Watson followed in (21m 49s) and Ian Rudge (28m 21) completing Shildon’s runners.

Chloe Fairclough was in action at Tees Barrage park run and finished first female, 26th overall from 113 runners. In Hackworth Park run no.54 David Beadle claimed victory in yet another pb of 20m 16s with Gary Bainbridge and Hazel Johnson chasing him home.
