For two weeks in November, Aycliffe and District Bus Preservation Society will display a selection of World War 2 road vehicles that can be seen at the Collection building at Locomotion, the National Railway Museum at Shildon.
The display can be seen from 8th November to 20th November, (incorporating Armistice Day – 11th November).
The road vehicles will join locomotive US Army Transportation Corps S160 No. 2253, which is currently on static display in Locomotion’s Collection building. S160 heads a World War 2 train where the locomotive coupled to a World War 2 flat wagon carrying a military Crusader Tank.
Visitors will also be able to see the Aycliffe District and Bus Preservation Society’s 1942 Bristol K double decker as well as additional vehicles. Allied forces-costumed re-enactors will accompany the vehicles on 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th November.
Passenger steam train rides will also be available on the Locomotion’s on site railway track on 8th and 9th November.
