Spennymoor Town Mayor, Cllr Ian Geldard, congratulated Lilian and Peter Dennis on their Diamond wedding anniversary.
The mayor presented the couple with some flowers to celebrate their special day.
The couple, who have three sons, five grand-children and five great-grandchildren, met through friends and both had careers in the hospitality industry.
Cllr Geldard said: “I’m delighted to be able to offer congratulations to Lilian and Peter on behalf of the people of Spennymoor. It’s a fabulous milestone they have reached and one they can be very proud of.”
