Bloom n Witches is an award-winning niche business and real hidden gem in Spennymoor. It offers a safe space for everyone to embrace their individual uniqueness, filling a gap even owners Abbie and Dannie never knew existed.
The pair joined forces in 2022 to create their unique and enchanting offer with a name perfectly embodies the essence of their shop, with ‘Bloom’ representing Abbie’s expertise in artificial flowers and ‘Witches’ paying homage to Danni, the modern-day witch. Together, they have created a haven for those who appreciate both the beauty of florals and the mystical world of witchcraft.
Abbie embodies glitter, sparkles and florals. She really is a real life fairy! Her curiosity and exploration of witchcraft makes her relatable and endearing to customers. Her background is delivering fun and educational activities for children and she loves nothing more then creating a magical event for someone’s special day.
Danni is a modern day witch aiming to bring a little bit of magic into the everyday. She is an eclectic, hereditary witch who loves healing and working with crystals and their benefits. She encourages all things spooky and witchy and especially loves having weird and wonderful conversations with customers. She thrives off educating people about the way of the witch in a fun and informal way and is happy to help people, whatever their journey.
Recently the pair won Business of the Year Awards through Pagans of the North magazine, expressing their thanks to customers, clients – and voters – who have supported them on our journey so far.
Bloom n Witches has many elements. It’s a holistic shop offering witchy goodies, spells, crystals and florals and it also offers a platform for local traders to showcase their products.
Alongside the shop is a quirky coffee shop, open Monday to Saturday from 10am-4pm offering a selection of home-made savoury, sweet treats and local coffee supplied by Wendy Woo, Hockings Butchers and Durham Coffee. Some favourites are Hubble Bubble cauldron drinks, cake and shakes, potion pots and Graveyard Cheesecake.
Healing treatments are available with Danni from Reiki and Crystal Healing to Chakra Rebalancing. Abbie can help you with all your floral needs from garlands, wreaths, corsage’s, headwear and bespoke orders for any special occasion. They also deliver workshops, groups and study programmes in a unique space that’s like a warm hug when you walk through the door.
The future looks bright at Bloom n Witches with lots of new offers like crystal and floral workshops, besom making, mini witch school, events and parties, tarot sessions, witch school for adults, astrology and, not for the faint-hearted, ghost stories.
