Shildon AFC held their annual presentation evening on Friday 16th May at Elm Road WMC, when the ‘Players’ Player of the Year’, the ‘Supporters Club Player of the Year’ and the ‘Directors’ Player of the Year’ all went to Darren Craddock. Top Goalscorer was Paul Connor with 23 league goals.
The John Hay Memorial Trophy, selected by John Hay’s family, was awarded to Lee Scroggins, while the ‘Performance of the Season’ trophy, awarded by the Supporters Club, went to Keith Finch for his penalty heroics in the 1st Round of the Durham Challenge Cup against Norton. The club begins their pre-season fixtures with a visit to Tow Law on Saturday 12th July.
On Wednesday 15th July they then travel to Blyth to take on the Spartans, who play in the Northern Premier League, Premier Division.
The club’s first home friendly is on Friday 18th July, when the Railwaymen welcome Scottish League One side Stranraer to Dean Street.
On Monday 21st July Shildon are on their travels again when they visit Northern League bound Ryhope Colliery Welfare.
They return to home ground on Friday 25th July when they entertain Scottish Junior League side Tayport FC, followed on Wednesday 30th July when Heaton Stannington are at Dean Street.
Finally, on Friday 1st August it is the annual John Hay Memorial Trophy match which will again be played at Seaham Red Star’s ground.
The 2014-2015 season is expected to get underway on Saturday 9th August.

The next meeting of the Shildon Supporters’ Club is on Sunday 1st June at 11.30am in the Clubhouse. “Everyone is more than welcome to come along and support your local team,” commented a spokesperson.
