When the club was reformed 2 years ago we had a very clear vision to get back into the Northern League and we had no doubts that it would be a long and arduous process, writes chairman of Ferryhill Athletic New Stadium Trust, Fraser Reynolds.

During this period we have looked at all possibilities within the Town for a new Stadium and we have had discussions with all of the relevant stakeholders in both the public and private sector. No stone has been left unturned.

We formed a steering group and whilst nothing has yet been agreed we are confident that we can move on to the next stage and set up a Trust which will be called Ferryhill Athletic New Stadium (FANS) Trust.

The Trust will begin work on planning out timescales, looking at what other clubs have done and start to raise funds. Throughout this time we will be working with other organisations in the Town as well as Durham County Football Association.

At this moment in time we have six members and we are looking for more people to come forward, particularly volunteers who have fund raising, planning and design skills and people with legal expertise. It is a great time to get in at the start and help us to make this project grow.

On the playing side things are ticking over nicely. Our under 18 Development team just needs three more points to clinch the league title and the senior team have reached a cup final for the first time in over 40 years.
