Residents are being given the chance to help shape the future of the swimming pool programme at leisure centres across County Durham.
As part of a review, Durham County Council is asking people for their views on how they currently use the pools, what is important to them and what activities they would like to see in the future.
The council has ten public swimming pools across the county, which all feature a busy timetable. This includes swimming sessions for adults and families, learn to swim programmes, club and school sessions along with other water-based activities such as inflatables, pool parties, aquafit, scuba diving and water polo.
The hope is that future timetables will encourage people to be more active and take part in pool-based activities.
Cllr James Rowlandson, the council’s Cabinet Member for Resources, Investments and Assets, said: “We know how popular our leisure centre pools are, which is why we’re keen to hear their views on what timetables should look like.”
Those interested in having their say as part of the review should complete the consultation survey before the closing date of 5pm on Friday, 21 October.
