Spennymoor Area Action Partnership (AAP) is progressing with its priority of Community Recovery for the 2023/4 financial year. The priority was agreed by the Board in May 2023.
The AAP has a Task & Finish Group to assess this priority and to identify key issues to be addressed within the Spennymoor AAP area. After assessing the priority, the Task & Finish Group and the Partnership Board have identified the following themes and challenges, which it would like to see projects focus on:
- Employability initiatives
- Advice and Guidance
- Mental Health and Wellbeing
- Community Safety
- Activities for Young People
- Food provision and support for people who have disproportionately affected by the rising cost of living
- Social Isolation
- Older people’s issues
- Environmental Issues
- Support for the Voluntary and Community Sector
- Support to small businesses (through a third party, not-for-profit)
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list and there may be other emerging community issues that need to be taken into consideration. Taking the information above into consideration, Spennymoor AAP would like to invite organisations and groups to submit potential project proposals based on the Community Recovery theme and the suggested area(s) highlighted above.
AAP funding should plug gaps in mainstream provision and add value to other funds and programmes wherever possible and projects should therefore complement existing activity. Match funding is encouraged and will be looked upon favourably. A minimum of £5,000 funding can be applied for. Funding can be applied for both revenue and capital projects. We would encourage and welcome a discussion about your proposals prior to submission and we look forward to hearing from you.
