Alexis and Sebastian James are the sons of local solicitor Bernard James, who recently passed away after a battle with cancer.
Following the final winding up of their father’s will, Alexis and Sebastian chose to make a charitable donation in their father’s memory and selected Butterwick Hospice in Bishop Auckland as the recipient of their gift.
Anthony Walters, solicitor and executor said, “Following the final winding up of Bernard’s estate, funds were available for a charitable donation and my fellow executor, Malcolm Chisem and I, were delighted when Alexis and Sebastian instructed us to make the donation to the Butterwick Hospice.”
The brothers visited the Hospice on Wednesday 18th February to donate a cheque for the huge sum of £7,000.
They were able to see for themselves the work done by the Hospice and to meet up with some of the local people who are able to benefit from the care provided freely because of generous donations such as theirs.
Clair McGregor, Butterwick Hospice Care Fundraising Team Leader said, “We are extremely grateful to Alexis and Sebastian for their support.
“The Hospice provides all of its services free of charge to local people, their carers and loved ones of all ages.
“It has been a great pleasure to show them around the Hospice and help them realise how much their donation means to us and the people we care for.”
