Rob Ramshaw fired two goals in the midweek 5-1 win over Southport and then insisted that the standards set on Tuesday night must be what Moors must measure up to during the new season.
The Moors star was in vintage form as Jamie Chandler’s side swept aside their visitors to roar back to form following the disappointment of a 1-4 home defeat to Tamworth last Saturday and the scare of initially falling behind against the bottom side.
Also notching a double was Glen Taylor after Jamie Chandler had demanded a response from his players following Saturday’s humbling. Will Harris, with his second in as many games, scored the other in a confidence-boosting win.
After just three games, Moors are just one point off the leaders in fourth place in the division table. Next up is a trip to Peterborough Sports this weekend while the following bank holiday weekend (Saturday 26 August), Moors will host Bishop’s Stortford at the Brewery Field with kick-off at the earlier time of 1pm. Then, on the bank holiday Monday, Moors will head north to take on Blyth Spartans at 3pm.
