Ferryhill Athletic played their first friendly of the season against Wynyard Village at King George V playing field on Saturday July 1st and ran out comfortable winners 8-1.
New signing Kieron Richardson got off to a flying start with four goals. Fellow new signing from Bishop Auckland, Cal Watkinson also had a fine debut scoring from the penalty spot and linking up well with striker Adam Morland who hit a brace. Fast improving youngster Alfie Backhouse completed the rout.
Later the same evening the club held its presentation night in Ferryhill Club and were entertained by top band, Sneakey Blinders. Player of the year award and most Man of the Matches went to skipper Jay White. Leading scorer was Adam Morland and the Young Player trophy was awarded jointly to Jay Rodham and Alfie Backhouse.
This coming Saturday the Latics entertain Northallerton Town Reserves at King George V Playing Fields with kick off scheduled for 2pm. Entry is free of charge.
