The Shildon Town Horticultural Show took place on Saturday 30th August at Shildon Civic Hall.
Brian Walton took 1st place in the leeks with a pair measuring 250 cubic inches.
Dave Snowball was 2nd with 221, and Barry Woodward was 3rd with 190.
Brian also won the award for best leek in show and the long leek section with 265, while Gary Parsons won the intermediate leek with 190 cubic inches.

Animals made from veg, 4 to 7 year-olds – Adam Bendelow, 8 to 11 – Lucy Glazier 12 to 16 – Holly McKimm.
