On Friday 3rd November, Chilton residents turned out to watch the much anticipated fireworks display, and the crowd was not disappointed.
A spokesperson said: “Everyone seemed to throughly enjoy themselves and the event proved to be a massive success.
“Both on the evening and since, we have received lots of positive comments about the event and requests for it to become an annual event.
“This will of course have to be discussed with members before any decision can be finalised.
“We are aware that owing to the limit on tickets imposed, some residents were unable to attend, however this was on advice from the Safety Advisory Group.
“The display is a first for the town and was made possible with donations from Chilton Residents As- sociation, County Council- lor Christine Potts from her Neighbourhood Budget fund and with input from Paula Nixon at the 4Together AAP, who worked tirelessly to ensure the project funding was secured within a tight deadline.
“Events on this scale also need willing volunteers so they run smoothly.
“We would therefore like to thank everyone who kindly assisted at the event as it was greatly appreciated. “Members would like to express their appreciation to Paul Gray, Town Clerk who led the fireworks project and deserves credit for a successful event.
