Ferryhill’s favourite social club, DIDO (Days In Days Out) held its annual celebratory dinner for the first time since the Covid pandemic, on Monday 24 October at Ferryhill’s Masonic Hall. The dinner was just one event in a jam-packed itinerary for the group, which has been running for over fifteen years.
A spokesperson would like to give a big thank you to Vivian Milburn and staff for a wonderful meal.
They would also like to thank Christopher and Mo from the Institute who take care of members on every Days In event. Finally, a thank you to superb vocalist, Jamie Tinkler.
The first meeting was held in April 2006 after a few local ladies decided to set up a social group for over 55s at Dean Bank Institute.
To their astonishment, over 100 people turned up and the group has been going strong ever since.
As well as holding ‘Days In’ with tea, coffee and entertainment, members also enjoy ‘Days Out’ and this year alone have enjoyed trips to Scarborough and Redcar.
The groups next day out is Wednesday 30 November, where they will visit The Bridges and Sunderland Empire to see White Christmas.
