Aycliffe Fell Walking Club (AFWC) are set to return to the Lake District next year having restricted the walk calendar to shorter coach journeys due to the Covid threat.
Recent walks have included Rothbury to Warkworth, Appleby to Kirkby Stephen and Kirkland in Cumbria to Appleby-in-Westmorland.
There are still two walks left for this year and numbers are on the increase!
On Saturday November 12, they have walks between Bowes and Middleton-in-Teesdale and then on Saturday, December 10 they will travel to the North Yorkshire Moors for walks between Chop Gate and Helmsley.
It should be noted that AFWC outings involve enough choice so that if you are new to walking, you can choose a shorter walk. Braver and more experienced walkers have the option to choose the longer and more demanding routes. There are walks for everyone’s needs at a cost of only £10 per person per outing currently!
If you are interested in getting out on one of our walks, visit our website www.aycliffefellwalkingclub.com and book a seat on the coach for their next trip.
The coach picks up walkers in Darlington, Aycliffe Village, Newton Aycliffe, Middridge, Shildon, South Church and Bishop Auckland Barnard Castle is also a pickup point if it is on route. Next year’s walking calendar will be announced shortly.
