Farewell to local ministers

St Paul’s and Whitworth churches are saying farewell to two ministers who are moving to new roles.

Rev’d Anthony Smith, curate of the parishes since 2019, will become Priest-in-Charge of the Riverside Group of churches in Darlington. Rev’d Ali Williams will be leaving in early August to become Associate Vicar in Werrington, near Peterborough. Earlier in July, the parishes gave thanks to Anthony and Ali and their families at a farewell lunch.

The Rev’d Matt Tarling, Vicar of St Paul’s and Whitworth said: “It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to seven of our friends and fellow disciples. They have ministered among us in lots of beautiful ways, using their gifts to bless us. Yet with sadness, it’s also a wonderful thing to be able to send members of our church family out to bless others.”
