On the evening of Monday 10th November, Senior Aircraftsman Daniel Barron returned to 2505 Squadron to talk to the cadets about his experiences as a member of the Royal Air Force.
An ex-cadet of the Bishop Auckland squadron, Daniel had achieved the rank of cadet Flight Sergeant and taken part in numerous activities including shooting, flying, swimming and camps, before leaving to successfully complete his basic, trade and operational training as an RAF Logistics Operator.
Since qualifying, Daniel has also completed a tour in Afghanistan and supported humanitarian aid in the Philippines.
Whilst on final parade, he was awarded his BTEC in Aviation Studies by Flt Lt Ian Pepper, which he had completed at the squadron prior to leaving to join the Royal Air Force.
Daniel said, “It is a privilege to be presented with the award today from Flt Lt Pepper; it is great to see that the squadron still keeps up to date with cadets who leave and move on”.
Flight Lieutenant Pepper said, “It is great when ex-cadets visit the squadron and talk to current members, we are really proud of their achievements”.
