Durham County Council is to undertake a public consultation in order to ascertain what residents of the town think of Shildon Town Square.
Improvements to the Town Centre were carried out in the late 1990s as part of an environmental scheme.
The space provides a focal point, however its potential remains to be fully exploited and some of the features are showing signs of wear and tear.
In order to assist with delivering the Shildon Regeneration Action Plan, Durham County Council would like to hear the views of Shildon residents and business owners on the Town Square and what they would like to see it used for in the future.
A spokesperson for Durham County Council commented, “We want as many people as possible to take part. Results will be collated at the end of October and the information gathered will help with future improvements.”
Questionnaires are available from Shildon Library, Shildon Town Council and Sunnydale Leisure Centre and should be returned to Durham County Council, Community Economic Team, Council Offices, Green Lane, Spennymoor, DL16 6JQ or to Shildon Town Council by 31st October 2014.
