Bishop Auckland Golf Club Gents’ team played their first away fixture of the season in the Teesside Union League Division 1 at Eaglescliffe on Wednesday 13th May, and on a fine, clear evening lost to a very good Eaglescliffe side.
Having said that, positives were found with a fantastic 5 and 4 victory by Craig Wren, followed by a further win by Carl Johnson who won his match 1 up and a share of the points by Wayne Hewitt and Chris Thompson, which brought the Bishop Auckland total to 6 away points for the evening.
The match was played in a true sporting manner which was a credit to all players and remarked upon by Club Vice Captain Baz Mundy in his after match speech.
