Bishop boys win national honours

Three Bishop Auckland schoolboys: James Twinn and Charlie Wigley, who attend St John’s Comprehensive School, and Mitchell Chaurley, who attends Parkside, represented Durham County under 16s at Birmingham City’s St Andrew’s Stadium on Friday 8th May, in the English Schools inter county’s national final.

Oxfordshire were Durham’s opponents in the final and after a goalless first half Durham went on to win 3-0, two goals scored by Charlie Wigley.

This is the first time in this competition’s history that Durham County have won.
