Arriva North East has proposed significant changes to its service timetables from 9 July, which includes the the reduction and ending of some services in Ferryhill.
The number 7 service between Durham and Darlington will no longer serve Framwellgate Moor in the mornings or afternoons. However its Sunday service will increase in frequecncy to every 30 minutes instead of ever hour.
The 8/8A service between Darlington to Spennymoor and Ferryhill will see some journeys on Service 8A being revised to operate during school holidays only while the Sunday Service 8 is being withdrawn.
The Service 56 from Durham to Bishop Auckland is be reduced from half hourly to hourly. However, there will be a trial extension of the service to Tindale Crescent in Bishop Auckland and most journeys will terminate there.
Sunday services will no longer include Stobbs Cross, but end at Coxhoe. Later buses will end at 9pm or 6pm on Sundays.
Service 86 between Trimdon to Bishop Auckland is set to be withdrawn.
Service X2, from Darlington to Peterlee including Rushyford, will be withdrawn and replaced between Sedgefield and Peterlee by a revised and increased Service X22.
Arriva blames โreductions in English National Concessionary funding support from Durham County Council and subsequent unsustainable passenger demand and financial position as a result,โ for the reductions.
