Saint John’s Youthy was rubbing shoulders with celebrities on Saturday 18th October, when 22 young people and leaders headed for Blackpool.
‘One Direction’, or at least their wax counterparts, proved a big draw with a number of the group being photographed next to their favourite band member.
Madame Tussaud’s was not for everyone though, and the Pleasure Beach was soon ringing to the sound of Shildon screams as the youths, accompanied by Naomi Tomlinson and Neil and Anne Cleasby, took to the Pepsi Max roller coaster.
“That was”, said Emily Callaghan (14) “awesome”. The groups reunited over a MacDonald’s before driving through the illuminations. “This is about building good memories”, said Revd David, “about our young people learning that faith lights up our lives as we learn, laugh, and share our lives together.”
