A Shildon girl has chopped off her beautiful long locks in order to help children with cancer.
Kiera O’Brien, from the Jubilee Estate, decided she wanted to donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity which provides real-hair wigs, free of charge, to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
The 12 year-old, who attends King James School in Bishop Auckland, went along to Margot’s Hair Salon in Church Street on Saturday 18th October, where they cut her waist long tresses for free.
Along with donating her hair, Kiera has also raised the fantastic sum of £171 for the charity, through donations and by knocking on doors around the town with her mam Tracy Pettit.
If you would like to show your support for Kiera there is still time to donate. Simply visit www.littleprincesses.org.uk.
