White Horse score funding

Cllr Peter Atkinson with Geoff Wilson of White Horse FC.

In a recent cheque presentation held at Ferryhill Town Hall, Cllr Peter Atkinson presented a cheque for £100 from his Members Initiative Fund (MIF) to Geoff Wilson, on behalf of White Horse FC.

The football club, who are based at the White Horse pub, and who play their matches at the Dean Bank A167 pitch, will use the funds together with a £350 contribution by Cllr Atkinson from his County Councillor Small Grants Fund, to help cover the annual running costs incurred by the club.

Cllr Atkinson said: “I am delighted to be able to support Ferryhill White Horse FC. MIF funds will enable the grassroots club to cover their fees for the 2023-24 season without having to worry about how they are going to raise the money.”
