The Neighbourhood Resolution Panel at Altogether Safer, Safe Durham Partnership, is seeking Volunteer Facilitators for the Woodhouse Close and Bishop Auckland area.
Are you a good listener, non judgemental and would like to make a positive contribution to your community? If the answer is yes, then why not become involved in one of the country’s latest community based Restorative Justice Projects?
Volunteers must be committed to attend training events on 26th, 27th and 28th June 2012 and a mentoring session on 19th July and 16th August.
It will be your role as a Volunteer Facilitator to interview those who have been harmed and those who have caused harm, and then facilitate any face-to-face meetings or correspondence to help both victims and harmers move on positively with their lives.
Volunteers will undergo a three day Accredited Restorative Justice Facilitator training course, which will equip volunteers with Restorative Justice skills. This is a great opportunity for those considering a career in Restorative Justice or other areas of the Criminal Justice System.
There may also be the opportunity to be accredited for the Diploma in Restorative Justice.
An information evening is being held at Woodhouse Close Community Church in Proudfoot Drive, Bishop Auckland on Tuesday 22nd May from 6pm till 7pm.
