Spennymoor Town Supporters Club has approved funding of £2,000 in support of Spennymoor Town Youth FC.
The youth set-up has undergone a major structural change, gaining autonomy from Spennymoor Town Football Club by registering as a Community Interest Company (CIC).
This new structure will be managed by dedicated coaches and parents, ensuring focused leadership and community involvement.
A spokesperson from the Supporters Club said: “This is a bold, forward-thinking move by the Academy, and we, as an independent Supporters Club, are proud to support it financially.
“We understand the challenges that come with such a transition and hope our contribution will help alleviate the financial burden often placed on parents, many of whom have multiple children involved in the system.
“We see strong synergies between our groups and hope this partnership will engage a younger and more diverse audience, reaching beyond the traditional Supporters Club demographic.
“This collaboration aims to foster greater community involvement and support for the youth academy’s future.”
The Supporters Club now actively support Spennymoor Town FC, Spennymoor Town Youth FC, Spennymoor Walking Football FC, Spennymoor News and Spennymoor Youth Theatre Group.
