Members from the Chikara Dojo in Spennymoor attended their Annual Summer Camp recently.
The camp has always been very well attended for a weekend of training and outdoor activities.
What is unique about the event is that some of the training takes place outdoors in various different locations. This year’s participants trained and camped in Tudhoe Village, where they took part in a self-defence lesson before enjoying a delicious BBQ, camp fire and marshmallows.
On the Sunday, members travelled to Gibson’s Cave in Middleton Teesdale where they took part in some very refreshing waterfall training.
Instructor, Lee Corner said “This was our 21st annual training camp held in Spennymoor and it went fantastically well.
“I am always pleased when we attend events like this, as it gives everyone the opportunity to train and socialise together.”
Several families train together at the Chikara Dojo as it provides a great opportunity for parents to bond with their kids whilst keeping fit and learning a potentially lifesaving martial art together.
