Auckland Chilton Croquet Club recently invited the ladies of Spennymoor WI along to learn and play croquet. A total of nineteen ladies attended, which stretched the club’s resources a little bit, but they ensured everyone got to play and – more importantly – have a lot of fun!
The ladies were not even fazed by the sudden cloudburst as they watched the sky eventually brighten so they could restart their games.
Everyone is welcome to try your hand at croquet at the Miners Welfare Recreation Ground on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons from 2pm until 4pm-ish. We’re always looking for new or returning players of all ages.
Your first three sessions are free and all equipment is free to use and it’s a good way to get fresh air, gentle exercise and learn something new.
