Residents have called a road’s speed limit into question after a head-on crash occurred involving a police car.
The smash took place on South Church bypass near to Henknowle Estate on Tuesday 29th September at around 9am.
It is thought that a man in his 50s driving a Nissan Qashqai swerved into the path of the police vehicle, which was on a routine patrol.
The driver of the Qashqai was taken to James Cook University Hospital by air ambulance where he was treated for minor injuries.
The incident occurred close to the site where Bryan Hardwick and David Weatherburn were killed while walking home after a conkering trip.
Residents of the Henknowle Estate are now calling for the 60mph speed limit to be reduced.
