Greenfield Arts and Middridge Parish Council are inviting the public to the unveiling of new speed awareness artwork at Middridge Village Green that encourages motorists to calm their speed.
Artist, Suzie Devey has been working alongside the local community, and students from Greenfield Community College to bring about an innovative and creative installation that supports safety in the village.
Middridge Parish Council has been actively campaigning for many years to try and persuade drivers to obey the speed limit through the village. An example was the ‘speed puppets’ that stood on the village green until recently.
Now, the latest example of the use of art to try and increase driver speed awareness is to be unveiled on the village green on Wednesday 26 October at 3pm.
Members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend.
