Shildon-based Caprice Roller Skating Club celebrated various wins at the National Tyne Tees Skating Competition at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre on 12th and 13th July.
The wins included the club’s coaches Lisa Firbank and Kay Taylor receiving a trophy and gold medal for their duo dance, with Kay Taylor also winning first place for her solo dance.
Other achievements included are a silver medal for Victoria Hanley for combined event (includes figures, solo dance and free dance) and a bronze for Leah Toms for the same combined event. Leah also received a bronze medal her for solo dance.
Hannah Anderson, aged just 6, won a bronze medal for her novelty dance (Ugly Duckling) and John Parlour, with Andrea Vasey, won a bronze medal for the couples dance.
A silver medal was won by the whole Caprice RSC Club for their end of competition show, “We Will Rock You!”.
Anyone interested in Artistic Roller Skating can go along to the club, based at Sunnydale Leisure Centre, on a Saturday from 2.30pm. Cost is £3 per hour. Due to competitions the next session will be on 2nd August.
