Traffic Offences
Two individuals have been reported for driving without insurance.
One individual was reported for driving while using a mobile phone.
Stop & Search Activity
Officers conducted 3 stop and searches in response to a report of a potential burglary.
Burglary Arrests
A male suspect, Stephen Robinson, was arrested in connection with three commercial burglaries. During these incidents, over £2,000 worth of goods and cash were stolen. Robinson has been charged, remanded, and sentenced to 4 months imprisonment.
A second individual was pursued and arrested by NPT officers in relation to two separate burglary offences.
Off-Road Bikes
Last week (1 Sep), NPT officers engaged in four separate pursuits involving off-road bikes. Unfortunately, all were aborted due to the unavailability of tactical support units.
We understand the community’s concerns and we will continue working to deter illegal off-road biking.
Please remember there are strict guidelines around pursuits involving off-road bikes, which we outlined in a post on our Facebook page last month.
Lead Theft Alert – Shildon Area
We have seen a rise in lead thefts in the Shildon area.
If you have any CCTV or video doorbell footage that may help, please get in touch with us.
Anti-Social Behaviour
Neighbourhood officers have responded to multiple reports of arson in Shildon, involving groups of youths.
The fire service has been called out five times, which is a serious and unacceptable waste of emergency resources. This behaviour will not be tolerated.
If you are involved — even by association — you will be dealt with.
We are actively identifying those responsible and will take firm action.
We are also working with housing providers, and if this behaviour continues, we will review the tenancy agreements of those involved.
Persistent anti-social behaviour can and will result in tenancy enforcement, including the possibility of eviction.
Parents – know where your children are, who they’re with, and what they’re doing.
We are committed to protecting the community and will use every tool available to stop this reckless and dangerous behaviour.
