Shildon’s Under 10s maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a hard fought draw against Darlington TSC recently.
Shildon made a bright start but TSC came into the game, and took the lead just before half time. The second half saw Shildon take the lead with a double from Jacob Race. TSC equalised with a longrange shot, before Shildon took the lead again with a great finish by James Rusby.
TSC leveled things up again with a powerful shot that goalkeeper Owen Burke was unlucky not to stop. Jacob Race was awarded his 3rd MOM of the season.
The fledgling U9s team continue to show their promise with a good draw at home to Darlington TSC. In the first half Shildon went behind following a good move by TSC.
Jamie Donohue produced several good saves to keep Shildon in the game. Shildon fought hard but were 2 behind before the break.
In the second half Shildon started to take the game to TSC. They were the better team for long periods and got their rewards through a goal from Anthony Jary, who doubled his tally five minutes later. Shildon could have snatched victory several times but the TSC goal was having a charmed life.
The game ended 2-2, with Anth Jary picking up the MOM award. The under 8s travelled to Norton and Stockton Ancients, and despite playing some really good football came out on the wrong side of a 1-0 result. Jack Leighton was given the MOM award.
