Kerry and Diako from Shildon’s own Italian restaurant, Santinni, are spreading a little cheer this Christmas season.
Highlighting their understanding of how pensioners maybe struggling during this time of year, they are opening their doors each weekday afternoon from 12pm until 5pm to provide a free of charge delicious bowl of soup and a warm bread roll.
Explaining on their Facebook page, they said: “We wanted to offer our elderly residents somewhere warm to sit and to make sure they received a hot meal”
Comments from followers have commended the business which is entering its tenth year next year with comments like, “well done” and “how lovely” and how this can help any of our neighbours who are feeling isolated in this Christmas period.
However, after a few comments about pensioners in the area perhaps not seeing their special offer on social media, the Town Crier is delighted to share Santinni’s plea to ensure that residents across Shildon are all aware of this kind and nourishing free deal.
