Shildon will have never seen as many Santas as are expected to descend on the town on Sunday 22nd December, when Shildon AFC Supporters’ Club is hosting a ‘Super Santa Sunday’ at Shildon Civic Hall.
The afternoon and early evening event comes with just one request: everyone should try to wear a Santa costume.
The event, which runs from 2.30pm until 8pm, will include top band The Fontains (playing The Jam, the Small Faces, The Killers and many more), and there will be a disco.
Everyone is invited to go along, with tickets priced at £5. As well as top music, the event will include the club’s weekly lotto draw, but with a difference.
A spokesperson explained, “As well as the usual lotto draw and consolation draw, if there is no winner of the main jackpot, one person will leave with a massive guaranteed cash prize of £200.
“Everyone who attends Super Santa Sunday and buys a lottery ticket during the event will, along with the main lotto draw, go into a special prize draw.
“One of those tickets will be drawn out and the lucky winner will leave £200 richer.
“Everyone who buys a lottery ticket but can’t make the event will still take part in the regular lottery draw, with a chance to win the big lotto jackpot.”
Week two of the draw took place in Sunday 8th December. The numbers drawn were 2,3,4,11,18 and 19. There was no winner of the jackpot, and the consolation prize of £25 was won by Winnie Moss of Shildon.
Next week’s jackpot rolls over to £500, with players needing to select the six winning numbers from 18.
