Shildon stay top

Shildon AFC are still top of the league after a 2 – 3 victory at Durham City on Saturday 7th December, with a winning goal scored by Ben Wood in added time.

This was sweet revenge for the Railwaymen, as in their previous meeting at Dean Street in October, Durham scored their winner in the 94th minute. Ironically, the score was also 2 – 3.

Shildon have some difficult games ahead up to the Christmas break. This Friday, 13th December, they entertain local rivals Bishop Auckland with a 7.30pm kick off.

On Wednesday 18th they are at home to Dunston, and on Saturday 21st they visit 2nd place Celtic Nation.

The Supporters’ Club is running a subsidised bus to the game in Carlisle. The cost is just £5. The bus will leave Dean Street at 10.30am, visiting Penrith on the way to the match.

It will leave Penrith at 1.30pm for Gillford Park and return directly to Shildon after the game.

There are only a few seats left, so anyone wishing to travel should call Winnie on 07784 975 451.

On Boxing Day, Vase winners Spennymoor Town are at Dean Street. This match has a 1pm kick off. Two days later, on Saturday 28th December, The Railwaymen play host to Penrith.
