A local woman is seeking information about two siblings who lived at RC Davison Children’s Home in Danby, North Yorkshire, during the 1960s.
Heather Mather is hoping to collect information about the children who spent time at the facility, which is 100 years-old next year. The home was established for the benefit of the children of Middlesbrough, many of whom were living in poor circumstances with very polluted air. They were often from large families with poor diets, which resulted in rickets and TB. The children were taken to the home to improve their health and were well-fed and taken for frequent walks in the countryside’s fresh air.
