A joint ‘Light Up a Life’ all denomination Memorial Carol Service, between Shildon’s Co-operative Funeralcare and The Butterwick Hospice, is being held at St Anne’s Church in Bishop Auckland Market Place on Sunday 7th December.
The service begins at 3pm and members of the community in Shildon are invited to attend an afternoon of celebration and remembrance of loved ones and to place a memorial tag on the Christmas tree in church.
A spokesperson commented, “Refreshments will be served afterwards and, to allow us to cater for those who wish to attend, please contact The Co-operative Funeralcare on 01388 603525 by 2nd December with the number of people who will be in your party.”
The Co-operative Funeralcare will again have memorial Christmas trees in each of their funeral homes throughout December, where tributes to loved ones may be placed. Call in at the Church Street funeral home between 10am and 2pm weekdays to leave your tribute.
Funeralcare would also like to thank everyone who bought a hand-made poppy this year. In the Shildon funeral home £63.66 was raised for the Royal British Legion and £278.77 in total for the area.
