Shildon Police are encouraging residents to find, post and hide rocks they discover decorated by the police.
In a Facebook post they said: “Thanks to the kind individual who left a painted rock at Shildon Police Station a few weeks ago. We have decided to take part in #Shildonrocks. PCSO Brown and Cowton have been busy on their days off hunting around their gardens and painting rocks in police themed designs.
“Whilst out on patrol throughout the town, they have hidden twenty-five rocks to be found by the children in Shildon. Please send us a message on Facebook or post on the Shildon Rocks Facebook group if you find one. Then re-hide wherever you would like!
